UAE Overtime Calculator - 125% and 150% Rates
Overtime is paid on the basic wage, at 125% normally and 150% for hours between 10pm and 4am, on the weekly rest day, or on a public holiday. Enter the basic monthly salary and the hours worked in each band.
The maths runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our servers.
The rules applied
- Overtime is calculated on the basic wage, not the gross package.
- Hourly basic = monthly basic divided by 30 days, then by 8 hours.
- Standard hours are 8 per day or 48 per week, reduced by two during Ramadan.
- Overtime should not exceed two hours per day except in the cases the law allows.
- Night hours between 10pm and 4am attract 150%, except for shift workers.
- Rest-day and public-holiday work attracts 150%, or a compensatory day off.

Where these numbers come from automatically
This page asks you to type the numbers in. In a working attendance system they come from the punches: overtime already split by band, service length already net of unpaid leave, and a payroll file ready to export for WPS.
