The honest summary: ZKTeco wins on price and availability, Suprema wins on accuracy and durability, Hikvision wins if your CCTV is already Hikvision. Everything below is detail on those three sentences.
ZKTeco — the default, and usually correct
Roughly two-thirds of what we install is ZKTeco, because for a typical 40-person UAE office it is simply the best value per door. Spares are in Dubai, engineers everywhere know the interface, and crucially the ADMS protocol is open enough that you can move to better software without changing hardware. That last point is worth more than any spec-sheet line.
Suprema — buy it when accuracy is the requirement
Suprema fingerprint matching is measurably better on difficult hands, and the outdoor units genuinely hold their IP67 rating rather than claiming it. You pay roughly 60-100% more per terminal. For a bank branch, a data centre or an outdoor gate in Mussafah, that premium is justified. For a 25-person office, it is not.
Hikvision — the single-vendor argument
The MinMoe terminals are good hardware at a fair price, and if your cameras, NVR and door terminals all sit in one management platform, your facilities team has one system to learn instead of three. The weakness is the attendance layer: reporting is thin, there is no mobile geofencing and no UAE overtime automation, so you will end up exporting to something else anyway.
What this means for your shortlist
- Office, under 100 staff, indoor: ZKTeco mid-tier face terminal
- Outdoor gate, harsh site, high headcount: Suprema or ZKTeco ProFace X
- High-security, anti-spoofing critical: Suprema FaceStation F2
- Existing Hikvision CCTV estate: Hikvision MinMoe + our software layer
